Based on Pokémon Yellow: Special Pikachu Edition, originally released in Japan in 1998, these versions are optimized for the Nintendo Switch, incorporating elements from Pokémon GO, including its intuitive Pokémon-catching mechanics.
At the beginning of your adventure, you will meet a Pikachu, who will become your partner, accompanying you throughout your journey. This Pikachu will be a reliable ally in battles, offering more than just its charming appearance. Depending on your choice between Pokémon: Let's Go, Pikachu! or Pokémon: Let's Go, Eevee!, you will encounter different Pokémon species and encounter rates.
The games leverage the Nintendo Switch's capabilities to provide new, accessible ways to engage with the Pokémon universe. Even newcomers can easily dive into the series, while experienced Trainers will find enough depth to remain challenged. The Pokémon-catching process has been significantly simplified, allowing players to use the Joy-Con to throw a Poké Ball with a simple button press or wrist flick.
Pokémon: Let's Go, Pikachu! and Pokémon: Let's Go, Eevee! also support two-player simultaneous play. By sharing a Joy-Con controller, two players can explore together, increasing the chances of catching Pokémon or assisting in battles against Trainers.
Enhance your gameplay with the Poké Ball Plus accessory, which offers a unique interactive experience. This device can replace the Joy-Con, featuring motion controls, lights, vibrations, and sounds. Feel the Pokémon inside the Poké Ball and hear its cry upon a successful catch. Additionally, the Poké Ball Plus allows you to take your favorite Pokémon for a walk in the real world, rewarding you upon their return to the game. It also functions as a Pokémon GO Plus.
