Prior to 1988, the standard trailer connector was a 6-pin unit, with some 5-pin plug/sockets found in Victoria, TAS, SA, and NT. Post-1988 regulations require a minimum 7-pin connector for registering boats, camper trailers, and similar vehicles. In certain situations, a larger connector may be necessary; consulting an auto electrician is advisable.
Our trailer plugs and adaptors are crafted from premium materials, featuring the most common 7-pin configurations. They include user-friendly screw-down terminals, corrosion-resistant metal contacts, and high-quality UV-stabilized plastics. Each type is designed with the socket affixed to the vehicle and the plug to the trailer.
In instances where a borrowed trailer does not match your vehicle's socket, our trailer plug adaptor leads are essential. These adaptors, approximately 20cm in length, are available in six versions to resolve mismatches among 7 Pin Flat, 7 Pin Large Round, and 7 Pin Small Round connectors. Ensure compatibility by matching the adaptor's plug end to your vehicle's socket and the socket end to your trailer's plug.
